ODCAN Community Guidelines
Coordinated by Wikirate
Welcome to ODCAN!
We’re a community of people who believe in the power of transparency, evidence, and collaboration. Together, we gather data, share ideas, and work toward understanding and improving the impact companies have on people and the planet.
ODCAN follows Wikirate’s Community Guidelines, and we’re committed to creating a space where everyone feels welcome, respected, and safe.
What we believe
-
Transparency matters, but using data to create positive change matters even more.
-
Working together makes our research stronger, we co-create ideas, share results, and celebrate wins as a community.
-
Curiosity and openness help us grow.
-
Every contribution is valuable, no matter its size.
Everyone is welcome
We want ODCAN to be a place where all people feel comfortable participating—sharing ideas, asking questions, and inspiring others.

How We Work Together
Be respectful
Treat everyone with kindness.
We can disagree, but we do so respectfully and focus on ideas—not people.
Be inclusive
Make space for all voices, especially new ones.
If you’re talking a lot, step back and invite others in.
Celebrate our differences
We come from many cultures and experiences.
Be curious, considerate, and use people’s preferred names and pronouns.
Behavior we don’t allow
Some actions harm our community and will not be tolerated.
Violence or threats
This includes threats of harm, encouraging self-harm, or sharing/attempting to share someone’s private information.
Personal attacks
No insulting, belittling, or targeting anyone for their beliefs, identity, or ideas.
Derogatory or discriminatory language
Hurtful language about anyone’s identity, including the dimensions listed above, is not okay. If someone tells you a comment is harmful, stop the behavior.
Unwelcome sexual attention
No sexual comments, jokes, images, or unwanted physical contact.
Disruptive behavior
This includes:
-
Interrupting or heckling speakers
-
Excessive alcohol use or pressuring others to drink
-
Shaming people for abstaining
-
Creating a hostile atmosphere in events or meetings
Anyone who violates these guidelines may be removed from the community.
Reporting Concerns
Your safety and comfort matter.
If you experience or witness behavior that goes against these guidelines, please report it confidentially through Wikirate’s whistleblowing channels:
