Sharing a new resource that may be useful for anyone tracking mandatory human rights due diligence (mHREDD) implementation in the EU.
The UN Global Compact Network Germany has carried out a comprehensive empirical study of how German companies are actually implementing the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) on the ground, not just what the law requires on paper. The Corporate Due Diligence Monitor is an interactive tool that visualizes the study’s findings, showing which structures, processes, and concrete measures companies have put in place, along with Good Practice Examples.
Relevance to ODCAN:
- As mHREDD legislation (like the EU’s CSDDD) spreads, having a concrete, evidence-based benchmark from one of the first major national laws (LkSG) gives advocates, researchers, and journalists a reference point for what “good” and “weak” implementation actually look like in practice.
- The Good Practice Examples can be a practical resource for advocacy and for pushing companies toward stronger commitments.
Is anyone on the network working with the LkSG or is using this Monitor already?
